September Mood

A Little Fall Fantasy

September has its own particular mood. The light turns golden, the apples arrive, and we start imagining cool evenings, open windows, and something simmering on the stove, even if the Texas heat has other plans. We’re thinking English countryside, burgundy ribbons, old stone houses, and a pie cooling somewhere nearby. A little more candlelight. A little less rushing. On the table, our Amber Quinn Wine Glasses, Etched Glassware with folkloric motifs and a delicate gold rim, Lafayette Salad, Soup, and Dinner Plates, and Rosenthal Champagne Flutes in a smoky hue. Add a Zebra Onyx candle holder or two, and let the table do what a good table should: make everyone want to linger.

Soup Season Coming

There is no better time to start thinking about soup. September is the gentle introduction, when the evenings are cool enough for a pot on the stove but not yet demanding a full winter production. We’re revisiting Kinfolk's Soupes à l’ancienne, an old-fashioned French approach to soup that feels exactly right for this time of year. Rustic, unfussy, and meant to be eaten around a table with good bread and a glass of something lovely. Consider it your first official excuse to put the soup tureen to work.
