Whether you’re hosting al fresco or simply want to impress your guests with a little something beyond the usual rosé, this season is all about mixing bold flavors with ease. We teamed up with Desert Door Texas Sotol, a Driftwood gem, to serve up drinks that are as smooth as your party playlist. And yes, you can totally tour their stunning distillery for extra bragging rights. The Bees Knees
2 oz Desert Door Pollinator
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey and water)
Ice
Lemon twist (for garnish)
Method:
Prepare the honey syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts honey and water. Heat gently, stirring until the honey is fully dissolved. Allow the syrup to cool before using.
Mix the cocktail:
In a shaker, combine 2 oz Desert Door Pollinator, 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice, and 3/4 oz honey syrup.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well chilled.
Strain and serve:
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish:
Garnish with a lemon twist.
Paloma
1.5 oz Desert Door Original Texas Sotol
0.5 oz Lime Juice
1 oz Grapefruit Juice
0.5 oz Agave Nectar
0.1 oz Grapefruit Shrub
Method:
Combine liquids in a shaker. Add ice. Shake. Rim glass with salt + fill with ice. Strain cocktail into glass.
Ranch Rita
2 oz Desert Door Original Texas Sotol
1 oz Orange Liqueur
1 oz Lime Juice
Agave Nectar (To Taste)
Coarse Salt or Tajin (Optional Garnish)
Lime Wheel (Optional Garnish)
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Add ice and shake. Rim serving glass with salt + fill with ice. Strain cocktail into glass and garnish.
